ORDINANCE NUMBER 2007-01

Whereas,  the Town of Shalimar has tentatively approved its Fiscal Year Budget for 2006-2007; and

Whereas,  the Property Appraiser for Okaloosa County, Florida, has certified 2.20 mills as an allowable millage rate for the calendar year 2007; and

Whereas, the Budget for Fiscal Year 2006-2007 can be funded with the revenue the proposed 2.2 millage rate will raise.

NOW THEREFORE, IT IS ORDAINED:

Section I.

That the millage rate to be imposed during the calendar year 2007 for taxable non-exempt real and personal property in the Town of Shalimar , Florida , be 2.20 dollars per thousand of appraised valuation.

Section II.

That the rate of 2.20 mills is a 7.99 % change from the rolled-back rate.

Section III.

That this is a temporary ordinance and shall not be codified.

Section IV.

That the county Property Appraiser and the Tax Collector shall be notified accordingly.
