PLANNING & ZONING BOARD

REGULAR MEETING – AUGUST 25, 1999

The regular Planning & Zoning board meeting was called to order at 6:37 p.m. by Co-Chair Roy Pimental. He led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

Chairman Eddie Phillips – out of town
Co-Chair Roy Pimental - present
Secretary Ursel Behnken - present
Member Patty Culjak – present
Member Jimmy Jones – absent

Others present were resident Jerry McCallister, Admin Official Rudy Sutton and Town Clerk Nell Webb.

OLD BUSINESS:

I. APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES OF THE AUGUST 4, 1999 MEETING –
There was a change to the minutes on Page 1 under NEW BUSINESS – misspelling of the name Crouch and on Page 2 under the same heading the addition of the words – in her favor. Patty Culjak moved to approve the minutes as corrected. It was seconded by Ursel Behnken and passed unanimously.

II. This item was for information only as Mrs. Crouch withdrew her request.

NEW BUSINESS:

BONEZZI DEVELOPMENT – HERB GARDEN BEHIND ANTONIO’S DUMPSTER
Rudy Sutton had talked to Bob Bonezzi asking him to take down the trellis. Mr. Sutton has looked at the garden and found all kinds of space for any fire truck or emergency vehicle to go through. If Mr. Bonezzi wants to keep the herb garden, he needs to come in for a fence permit, though, said Patty Culjak, although it would be an after-the-fact permit. Mr. Sutton also explained the commercial setback rules. Although the Town has used the 30 ft. setback in the recent past – i.e. 10 ft. for the buffer plus 20 ft. setback - the setback would also be correct at 20 ft because the setback as well as the buffer start at the property line which means that the buffer zone and the setback are superimposed.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Ursel Behnken announced that the Town received the go-ahead from DEP to start with Meigs Park.

ADJOURNMENT: Patty Culjak moved to adjourn the meeting at 7:05 p.m. It was seconded by Ursel Behnken and passed unanimously.
