MINUTES SHALIMAR PLANNING & ZONING BOARD WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 6, 1999 6:00 P.M. IN TOWN HALL CHAMBERS
Chairman Eddie Phillips called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM in Town Hall Chamber and led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States.
ROLL CALL FOR THE RECORD: Clerk Wilkinson called roll. Others in attendance were Commissioner Combs and Clerk/Administrative Official Jean Wilkinson.
OLD BUSINESS: Roy Pimental moved to approve the minutes of the December 11, 1998 regular meeting of the Planning and Zoning Board. Jimmy Jones seconded the motion and it carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS: The Agenda for the evening was a brief training session for information for the new Board members. Chairman Phillips and Admin Official covered the following: I. Election of a chairman was postponed until Ms. Culjak has taken her oath of office II. Brief overview of the LDC, Comprehensive Plan, and Foundation Documents were covered by Mr. Phillips and Ms. Wilkinson. This included the CIE and EARS. Discussion followed and questions were answered. III. A brief overview of the Sunshine Law was presented and a copy of the Booklet put out by the Ethics Committee was handed to each member. Discussion followed. IV. Mrs. Wilkinson explained Financial Statement Disclosure Requirements. V. The Bert J. Harris Private Property Rights Protection Act was briefly described by Ms. Wilkinson. She used the Basic Training for Florida Planning Commissioners Manual prepared by FL Chapter of American Planning Association (FAPA) and FL Planning and Zoning Association (FPZA)
ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICIAL'S REPORT:
1. A copy of the Memorandum, attached, shows 3 Occupational Licenses issued, 4 contractor's permit issued, and 14 Zoning Compliance Certificates since Dec. 6. ANNOUNCEMENTS:
1. Sunshine Law seminar to be in Crestview on 15 Jan. ADJOURNMENT: The meeting was adjourned on a motion by Jimmie Jones at 7:45 PM
