John Cash

Police Chief


  

Chief Cash joined the Shalimar Police Department in January 2002.  He was promoted to Police Chief in January 2005.  John began his law enforcement career in 1999 with the City of Mary Esther Public Safety Department.   During his short tenure with Shalimar, he has been the driving force in modernization of the department to include color video surveillance, moving radar and wireless internet access in the police vehicles.  He and his patrolman are recognized throughout Okaloosa County as true community service policeman. 

 

John was born in Cashion City, Oklahoma in April 1978.  In 1984, his family relocated to Fort Walton Beach area.  John attended grade school in the local area and is a 1997 Fort Walton Beach High School graduate.  John was active in sports throughout High School, he loves sports and considers himself an all around athlete.  

 

John and his wife, Brooke and two sons, Austin and Braden, live the Mary Esther area.  John and Brooke met in high school.  With two young sons, John’s athletic background is often tested.

 

John graduated from the Police Academy at OWCC in fall of 1998.  He has obtained several certifications and awards in the Criminal Justice Field since he began his police career in Mary Esther.
