Tom Burns

Town Manager

Tom was hired as the Shalimar finance director in May 2000 and given the duties of Town Manager in 2001.  Tom is a former USAF pilot, retiring from Hurlburt Field in 1995.  He had tours of duty in the RF-4C, T-38, T-33, T-41, and was stationed in Arizona , Colorado , Mississippi , Texas , Korea , and the Philippines .  Tom holds a bachelor’s degree is in business science from the US Air Force Academy and a master’s degree in business management from Troy State University .  He has been married for 32 years to wife Linda and they have two sons and a daughter.  The Burns’ have lived in the Shalimar area since 1993.
